Retailer Education Seminars

The NSSF, in partnership with our retired ATF consultants and FBI/NICS team, have successfully completed another year of Retailer Education Seminars. These free seminars are provided to the firearms retailers to support the NSSF’s mission to promote, protect and preserve the shooting sports industry. Seminar topics include: properly filling out the 4473 form, inventory control, store security, straw purchase awareness and the NICS background check process. The seminars are wrapped up by a question and answer session.

The portion of the seminars have proven particularly popular with the attendees as they get first hand knowledge of the workings of the ATF and FBI/NICS from our all star team of retired ATF consultants, each with over 33 years experience in the ATF.

The Retailer Education Seminars have proven so successful in delivering value to the firearms retailers; the NSSF is expanding from 8 seminars a year to 12 seminars in 2013.

45 days prior to the seminars, all FFLs within the host state will receive an invitation with directions on how to register for the seminars. For further information regarding the seminars, please contact Patrick Shay, director of retail development at pshay@nssf.org.
