Dolnack
National Shooting Sports Foundation |
A
letter from Chris Dolnack, senior vice president of the National Shooting
Sports Foundation, has been prepared for every exhibitor at the SHOT
Show. In that letter, Dolnack relates that NSSF, owner and sponsor
of the SHOT Show, is proud of the wonderful event that transpired in
Las Vegas, thanks all who participated for their support and explains
that we have already set our sights on ways to improve upon this year’s
experience.
Dolnack
would like to share some points expressed in his letter:
- NSSF conducted exhibitor and attendee focus groups during the show
and, additionally, will gather results of post-show surveys. Since
the return to our offices on Monday, NSSF personnel have been at work
analyzing the show and identifying ways to improve for next year.
- Year after year, surveys from SHOT Show participants tell us they
want to see the show in Las Vegas early in the year, and next year’s
edition will return to the Sands Expo & Convention Center from
Jan. 18 to 22, 2011, the only available Vegas venue that can accommodate
the SHOT Show.
In
essence, the letter to exhibitors expresses the same message you’ve
read here: The SHOT Show once again was the industry’s largest
gathering, a spring board to the new business year, and we thank all
who participated to help NSSF provide the representation and programs
we do. Your support makes that happen, and your input, via the
post-show survey that will hit your in-box, can only help us improve
our efforts to service you.
Another
Record Year for the SHOT Show
All-time
high in buyers and media professionals
 |
The
2010 SHOT Show floor was filled
with a record number of buyers |
The
aisles of the SHOT Show exhibitor halls were crowded with buyers, the
press room computer terminals were always being used by a credentialed
member of the media, and SHOT Show University, the State of the
Industry Dinner and the Law Enforcement education program were filled
to capacity at the 2010 SHOT Show. It's easy to see why when you
analyze the preliminary figures released at the conclusion of the show:
- A record 31,280 buyers registered for the show.
- An all-time high of 1,804 professionals were issued media credentials.
- Overall attendance was 58,444, only a few hundred shy of the show’s
all-time record set at the 2008 SHOT Show, held in Las Vegas.
- Exhibiting companies numbered nearly 1,800, about 125 of them international,
covering 700,000 net square feet in the Sands Expo & Convention
Center’s halls and the Venetian Hotel’s meeting rooms.
