Beware of Unauthorized SHOT Show ® Badge Sales

Ineligible attendees risk ejection and loss of entry payment

With the 2010 SHOT Show ® little more than a month away, Web forums, Internet chat rooms and other community Web sites are abuzz with excitement about attending the show. Although registered show-goers have already complied with the attendee-registration process, others are looking for ways to get tickets even though they may not be eligible to attend the show. The SHOT Show ® is a private trade show for professional shooting, hunting and outdoor trade members only. The show is not open to the general public.

The SHOT Show ® is keeping a watchful eye for unauthorized ticket brokers buying, reselling and transferring SHOT Show ® attendee admission badges and others attempting to circumvent show-attendance rules. These individuals risk having their badges cancelled and immediate removal from the show without a refund.

The safest way to obtain SHOT Show ® attendee badges is either through the show's Web site or in-person at the show following verification of trade affiliation.

To report specific violations of the show's ticketing and admission rules please contact the National Shooting Sports Foundation's Legal Department at 203 426-1320 or jyue@nssf.org.

Additional Exhibitors Report on Celebrity Appearances

Promotions likely to attract attendees and media

More and more exhibitors are promoting themselves by conducting promotions in their booth as well as in other venues to increase traffic to their display area and generate more media coverage.

The three companies that most recently completed the online form at the SHOT Show ® Web site to report on their show promotion involving a celebrity, a demonstration or an event have been Buck Knives, COR-BON/Glaser and Energizer.

Buck Knives will be holding a press conference at its booth, 12013, on Tuesday, Jan. 19, at 9:30 a.m., at which time they will announce the Jim Shockey Signature Series Knives by Buck. The press conference will be hosted by Chuck and C.J. Buck, and they will present Shockey, who is. a well-known TV personality and hunting outfitter. He will remain at the booth until 11 a.m. Media wishing to arrange an interview may contact John Weaver, telephone 800-326-2825 ext. 106, e-mail johnw@buckknives.com.

For more details, contact Cheryl Poppe, telephone 877-542-5339, e-mail kickeez@cni.net.

The Dec. 3 edition of SHOT Show ® Blast incorrectly identified Micah Clark, the guest at Pacific Sun Marketing's booth, 2558, during the run of the show, as a former Navy SEAL. Mr. Clark is the founder of the Camp Patriot program, as reported, but he is not a former Navy SEAL. The mission of Camp Patriot is to take disabled veterans on outdoor adventures.

If you are planning a special promotion, such as a celebrity appearance, a demonstration or another media event, complete the online form so that we may consider publicizing the information in the SHOT Show ® Blast, as well as on the SHOT Show ® Web site.
